"Honesty is the highest form of intimacy". This quote is powerful and so true. I love it. Honesty is the ecosystem in which love and intimacy thrives. I crave love and intimacy but I have not stopped to think and take a stock of my life how lies and dishonesty have hindered the growth of love and intimacy in my relationships with family and loved ones.
I have lied to Bubengu about things. I feared the consequences if I told the truth about my past. It put me under stress and pressure. Really, I've been diagnosed with hypertension and heart problems caused by sustained stress and lifestyle choices not good for my health. When I finally revealed the truth (not voluntarily), I feared the worst would happen. But love I received. I am deeply grateful.
Revealing the truth led to love and intimacy. Lies and dishonesty in a relationship will soon end the relationship completely. Just as I feel hurt when I am lied to, so does the other person feels. There is no deeper love and intimacy when lies, deceit and dishonesty are around.
My greatest regret is that I lied and that no matter how much I try to do now, there is still doubt in the minds of Bubengu whether I am telling the truth or not. The lies are compounded when I lie to correct a lie. That sick feeling in the stomach I hate. I have changed and I will let my actions speak. Only the truth will set me free.
Honesty (not strategy) will lead to deeper lasting love and intimacy. There is a payoff and that is what my life will be. Bubengu has proven that I can be honest and receive love and intimacy. Emotional and intellectual honesty is my new religion!

HONESTY is a beautiful thing for the soul. Being real and honest and sharing everything about me as it is to my loved one is a form of love and intimacy. Intimacy means being real!
