Day No. 2 of 28-Day Gratitude Journey - The Magic Rock

Today is day no. 2 of my 28-day gratitude journey.  I am using one of Rhonda Byrne's best-selling book The Magic as a guide for my gratitude practice.  The Magic is all about practicing gratitude.  It has daily gratitude practices designed to make gratitude a habit and an essential part of a person's life.

To recap on day no. 1 - counting my blessings - the practice is about counting one's blessings.  This can be in all areas of life, including health, job, business, money, relationships, family, life, nature, material things, and almost all spheres of life.  The idea is feel that gratitude for the blessings we have.  In the morning, I counted 10 of my blessings and the reasons why I am grateful and list them down.  During the day, I read my list and at the end of each item, I sincerely feel and say the magic words "thank you" three times.

Counting My Blessings is a gratitude practice that is to be repeated in the morning everyday for the 28 days.

Today's Gratitude Practice is titled the Magic Rock.  For this practice, I brought two stones (one black and one white) all the way from home, from the mouth of Nomab River, a beautiful beach called Sunumem, a special place where I grew up in.

In the evening, before I go to sleep, I will hold the Magic Rock in the palm of my hand and close my fingers around it.  I think back carefully through all the good things that happened to me during the during find find the best thing that happened out of all the good things that I am grateful for.  I say the magic words "thank you" for this best thing.  The Magic Rock has to be by my bedside, where I can easily see it when I go to bed.

I have my Magic Rock and I will do this practice before I take the dreamworld journey in gratitude tonight.

Now, to begin the day, I count my blessings.  It's "better to lose count while naming your blessings than to lose your blessings to counting your troubles" - Maltbie D. Babcock (1858 - 1901) Writer and Cleryman
